2025 HSC

Our 2025 HSC results reflect continued academic achievement: 30% of results were in the top two bands (5, 6, and E4 for Extension courses), and 70% were in the top three bands (4, 5 and 6). The cohort included 11 Distinguished Achievers and six students nominated for the SHAPE Exhibition - three for Industrial Technology: Multimedia, and three for Drama (Costume Design, Individual Project Performance, Director Folio).

2024 HSC

MHS was ranked in the top 24 schools in NSW for growth in the top two performance bands (Band 5 and Band 6) in the 2024 HSC. The NSW Department of Education recognised 14 metropolitan and 10 regional and rural public high schools for high growth in their 2024 HSC results, selected from 452 public high schools.

2023 HSC

In the 2023 HSC, the school was placed among the top 14 schools in the state for growth across the top three bands (Band 4, Band 5 and Band 6), a result also acknowledged by the NSW State Government.

Sustained Growth

Marrickville High School is recognised as the top 4 most improved school in NSW, and top 2 in Sydney, for HSC results over the past decade (2015–2024), reflecting a consistent trajectory of academic improvement rather than a single strong result.
