On Sunday May 26th Marrickville High School students joined Erth Theatre company to take part in a magical puppeteer walking performance through the Barangaroo Precinct for VIVID Festival.
To pay homage to First Nations culture, Marrickville students were transformed into a school of large illuminated fish as they followed a giant puppet Marri Dyin (Great Woman), on a journey through Barangaroo.
First Nations Dancer and choreographer Albert David, and Erth Theatre Company's Director Nicholas O'Regan worked with our students at a special workshop where they learnt the story and themes of the production 'Winter Camp', as well as choreography and puppeteering skills.
The evening was a breathtaking experience and enjoyed by students, families and the whole community.
