Planning your school travel is easy. There are a range of safe transport options to get to our school. Check our location map, driving details and public transport options to help make the journey to school safe and easy.
Main entrance: 2 Centennial Street, Marrickville. Please press the intercom bell and office staff will open.
Side entrance: Yabsley Avenue open for students to enter and leave in the morning and afternoon.
School carpark: Northcote Street, for staff parking and deliveries.
School drop off and collection points: Centennial Street and Yabsley Street, Marrickville.

If your children are walking to school, plan the journey together and practise being a safe pedestrian by:
- keeping to the left of the footpath
- being aware of the vehicles coming in and out of the driveways
- not being distracted by mobile devices or by other people
- using a safe, alternative way home in wet weather
- showing respect to other pedestrians.

Drive and park safely near Marrickville High School
Keep children safe by remembering the following:
- drop and pick up children on the school side of the road
- always take extra care when driving in 40km school zones
- follow all parking signs - these help keep children as safe as possible
- park responsibly even if this means you have to walk further to the school gate
- slow down to 40km/h in the school zone and stay aware of crossings
- never double park - it is illegal and puts children at risk
- never do a U-turn or three-point turn outside the school as it puts children at risk of harm
- model safe and considerate pedestrian and driver behaviours to your children.

As a parent or carer, it’s your responsibility to get your child to and from school safely. Student safety is our priority.
Keep our school community safe by:
- driving and parking safely, even if it means parking further away and walking the rest of the way to school
- being a good role model
- never calling your child from across the road
- using the safest place to cross the road.

Subsidised school travel
Transport for NSW provides subsidies to assist school students.
- The School Student Transport Scheme provides eligible students with free or subsidised travel on public transport between home and school.
- The School Drive Subsidy may help towards the costs of driving children to school if you live in an area where there is no public transport.

Driving and parking
The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.
When driving and parking near our school, please:
- ensure you park safely in school zones
- follow speed signs
- do not make U-turns or 3-point turns outside the school.
Parking on school grounds
A staff carpark is located on the Northcote Street Entrance. This entrance is also used for collection and pick up of our support unit students.
