The Support Unit received funding from a local charity to set up a Sensory Room. All Support Unit staff were trained by Corinne Rixon (Occupational Therapist) on how to use the donated equipment to support the sensory needs of the students in the Support Unit.
This has become a valuable resource in our school.
Students are able to acquire a sensory diet and exercise regime through our trained Occupational Therapist at a reasonable fee. This then allows our students to access the equipment in times of need. It is pleasing that we have received another grant so the room is currently being refurbished.
