What is the Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) Award?
The Duke Edinburgh's International Award (DoE) is a program designed for young people to build skills to equip them for life and work. The DoE Award allows students to create and work towards goals in four different areas: Skill, Service, Physical Activity and Adventurous Journey. It is a voluntary program that aims to build students' commitment, self-confidence, resilience and leadership skills. Students work individually over the year to complete the required hours in the Skill, Service and Physical Activity components. The Adventurous Journey component is completed collectively, and involves preparing, conducting and evaluating two overnight expeditions.
