It's debating season! Marrickville A and B teams are participating in the Premier's Years 7 and 8 Debating Challenge and found themselves pitted against each other in the recent first round competition. The topic of whether schools should ban homework found enthusiastic support from Marrickville A and strong opposition from Marrickville B. Adjudicated by Sydney University student and debater Nayeem Halim, the debate was awarded to Marrickville B for their convincing arguments about the benefits of homework.
Well done to all our debaters - several of whom have not debated before. Marrickville A - Zen Marcos, Emile, Trelawney, Charlie (Team Adviser), Marrickville B - Verun, Gus, Reuben, Emily(Team Adviser). Thank you also to Ben(Timekeeper) and Daniel (Chairperson). Our next round is against Fort Street High School's teams.
