Worldwide and within Australia, women and girls continue to be underrepresented in STEM education and careers. At Marrickville High School, as part of our parallel learning structure, we provide our students with opportunities to engage in specialty Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) lessons. This week, Year 7 girls spent the morning developing their coding and robotic skills which they used to operate the Sphero BOLTS, which they programmed and raced as part of a series of fun balloon and speed challenges. We are proud of their teamwork and problem-solving abilities as they maneuvered their Sphero BOLTs through the race path. It's exciting to anticipate where their creativity and tech proficiency will lead them next!
